Gaels Lose to Concordia 73-61 in Exhibition Play

MONTREAL (October 17, 2014) – The Gaels lost against the Concordia Stingers 73-61 on the road Friday evening in Montreal.

The Stingers hit their rhythm early and pulled away from the Gaels to lead 26-6 after the first quarter. Concordia never lost their momentum, maintaining their lead until the final buzzer. Patrick Street (Etobicoke, Ont.) led the Gaels offensively sinking 17 points to help the Gaels stay within reach of the Stingers. In the second half the Gaels picked up their offensive pressure, drawing fouls to shorten the gap by shooting 77% from the charity stripe. Despite the increased pressure, the Stingers were able to stay ahead of the Gaels and ended the night with a 73-61 victory in the non-conference game.

Mukiya Post led all scorers, landing 20 points for the Stingers. Street was a dominant force for the Gaels as well as Tanner Graham (Kingston, Ont.) who contributed to 14 points to the overall score.

Queen's will continue their Montreal preseason tour against UQAM Saturday at 4:00pm in more exhibition action.
