KINGSTON, Ont. (October 15, 2014) - The women's soccer team (8-4-3) could not find the back of the net as they went on to lose 3-0 against the No.2 Ottawa Gee Gees (13-1-0) at Miklas-McCarney Field on Wednesday night.
Ottawa opened the scoring when Pilar Khoury was awarded a penalty kick after being taken down by
Micah Vermeer (Grimsby, Ontario) in the box. Khoury stepped up and buried the shot into the bottom right corner. The Gee-Gees doubled their lead in the final minutes of the half as Khoury deposited her second of the match.
The Gaels best scoring opportunity of the evening came early on in the second half when
Breanna Burton's (Ottawa) strike found the crossbar. Queen's was unable to generate further offensive pressure as the Gee-Gees added another to earn the 3-0 victory.
Keeper
Madison Tyrell (White Rock, B.C.) started in net for the Gaels and suffered the loss after surrendering three goals on nine shots. Cynthia LeBlanc of the Gee-Gees earned the victory after turning aside all seven shots that came her way.
The Gaels (8-4-3) return to Miklas-McCarney Field on Sunday at 1pm for their final game of the regular season against RMC (0-13-1).
