Gaels take a set off York in 3-1 loss

BOX SCORE TORONTO (January 26, 2014) - Queen's battled through an extensive first set in a 3-1 loss to York on Sunday evening, falling 33-31, 25-22, 25-27, and 25-21.

Philippe Goyer (Ottawa) and Mike Tomlinson (Stratford, Ont.) led the Gaels two-pronged attack, with 19 and 15 kills, respectively, leading the Gaels to a third-set victory. On defense, Ivo Dramov (Plovdiv, Bulgaria) picked up a game-high 11 digs.

Ray Szeto was York's offensive leader with 15 kills while Nikola Sandic recorded a team-high 10 digs, leading the Lions to victory.

Queen's is back at home next weekend, hosting No. 1 McMaster on Saturday at 3pm before heading to RMC for a 4pm matchup.
