No.2 Gee-Gees Defeat Gaels 100-79

| By:
OTTAWA (January 25, 2014) - The Queen's men's basketball team (7-9) lost 100-79 to the No.2 ranked Ottawa GeeGees (14-2) on the road Saturday night.

The Gaels were on to their second game of one of their toughest weekends this season, falling to No.1 Carleton Friday night and taking on No. 2 Ottawa Saturday. Queen's could not find their offensive rhythm against the Gee-Gees, going only five for 23 from the three and 36% from the floor for the game.

The end of the second quarter was where Ottawa really pulled away, going on a run that would give them a 17 point lead. At the half, the Gee-Gees led the Gaels 53-36 with Terry Thomas contributing 30 of those points for Ottawa.

Terry Thomas is the fourth player in Gee-Gees history to be a part of the 40 point club finishing the game with 42 points. Mike L'Africain contributed 21 for Ottawa as well. Sukhpreet Singh led the Gaels with 17 points and Roshane Roberts added 16.

The Gaels play Algoma next Friday at 8pm at the ARC in Kingston.
