BOX SCORE OTTAWA (January 24, 2014) - The Carleton Ravens got the best of the Queen's Gaels in a close match this Friday evening in Ottawa. The final score of the game was 57-55.
Both teams came out energized off the tip. The Ravens managed to win the first quarter scoring 19 points to the Gaels 12. The Gaels fought back in the second quarter outscoring Carleton by 10 points, ending the first half 31-28 for the Queen's Gaels.
In the third quarter, the Gaels continued to outscore the Ravens 13-8 to extend their lead to eight. In the final period of play the Ravens worked to close the scoring margin and were able to pull ahead to steal the win from the Gaels after two successful free throws with 0.4 seconds left on the clock. The Gaels attempted a final shot but were unable to convert. With this win the Ravens cement their top position in the OUA East Division.

Gemma Bullard (Guelph, Ont.) who had 19 points while teammate
Robyn Pearson (Toronto, Ont.) finished with eight boards. The Ravens were led by Natasha Plaskacz (Chelsea, Que) and Stephanie Carr (Sittsville, Ont.) who each had 16 points and Lindsay Suprunchuk (Ottawa, Ont.) who had a game high of 14 rebounds.
The Gaels were 36.4% from beyond the arc, while both teams were evenly matched in both free throws and field goals. The Ravens had 19 turnovers to the Gaels 11.
The Gaels are back in action tomorrow where they face off against the Ottawa Gee-Gees, tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
