BOX SCORE OTTAWA (January 24, 2014) - The Queen's men's basketball team (7-8) lost to the No.1 ranked Carleton Raven's (15-0) 104-65 in Ottawa Friday night.

The Raven's Nest was buzzing it's usual energetic and loud atmosphere as Queen's tipped off for it's toughest match-up of the season. The best player on the number one ranked team in the nation, Phil Scrubb, opened the game with a baseline three, setting the momentum for the match that could not be stopped. Carleton started to really pull away early in the second with their sharp three-point shooting. At the half, Queen's trailed 55-28.

At the beginning of the third quarter,
Sukhpreet Singh (Toronto) started the Gaels off with a loud and-one drive to the hoop. The Gaels never gave up in the forty minutes, but were unable to suppress the relentless offensive precision and defensive tenacity of the Ravens. Carelton shot 60% from the field and from behind the arc (17 for 28) in the contest.

Phillip Scrubb of Carleton led all scorers with 23 points on the night. His teammate Clinton Springer-Williams contributed 17 of his own.
Patrick Street (Etobicoke, Ont.) led the Gaels with 14 points, while
Greg Faulkner (Kingston, Ont.) added 12 and Sukhpreet added 11.
