No. 10 Gaels Lose 3-2 to No. 7 Ravens in battle of Top 10 teams

BOX SCORE OTTAWA (January 24, 2014) - The No.10 ranked Queen's Men's hockey team (14-4-5) lost 3-2 to the No. 7 Carleton Raven's (15-5-1) Friday night in Ottawa.
 
The Gaels got off to a great start with Corey Bureau (Amherstview, Ont.) of the Gaels scoring off an assist from Harrison Hendrix (Calgary) and Patrick McEachen (Stouffville, Ont.) in the eleventh minute of play. Carleton tied the game up at 1-1 by Joe Pleckaitis of the Raven's scoring on a power play in the nineteenth minute.
 
In the second, the Raven's were first to find the back of the net, taking the lead 2-1 off another power play goal. The Gaels Joey Derochie (Sudbury, Ont.) tied up the score 2-2 in the fifth minute with some assistance by Tyler Moore (Winnipeg) and Patrick McGillis (Calgary). Joey West of Carleton would give the home team a one goal advantage only nine minutes later. At the end of the second period, Queen's trailed the Raven's 3-2.

The Gaels were unable to score the equalizer in the third, bringing their two game winning streak to an end.
 
The Gaels are back to the ice next Friday in Quebec at Concordia.
