BOX SCORE WINDSOR, Ont. (January 17, 2014) - Queen's needed extra points in the tie-breaker fifth set to snag a five-set road-win against the Windsor Lancers on Friday, 17-25, 25-18, 25-21, 18-25, and 16-14.
After Windsor knotted the fifth and deciding set at 14-14,
Mike Tomlinson (Stratford, Ont.) threw down a pair of kills to end the match, winning it for Queen's.
Tomlinson put the Gaels on his back, picking up a game-high 23 kills, team-highs in digs (13) and blocks (2.5), and an ace to lead Queen's to victory.
Darren Edwards (Waterdown, Ont.) contributed 11 kills to the Gaels offense, while
Ivo Dramov (Plovdiv, Bulgaria) made 11 digs on defense.
Scott Hickman had a team-high 14 kills for the Lancers, and Greg Simone played well-rounded game, making a team-high 15 digs while contributing offensively with 11 kills.
The Gaels continue their road-trip on Saturday with an 8pm game against a strong Western squad.
