The Queen's Gaels are in action on numerous fronts this week. Here's a rundown of when and where to catch your Gaels in action.
Men's Hockey: The No. 10 Gaels head East this weekend to battle No. 5 McGill on Friday at 7pm and Concordia (Quebec) on Saturday at 2pm. Goalie
Kevin Bailie (Belleville, Ont.) has been one of the top goalies in the OUA all season, currently sitting in the top five in goals against average (2.11) and save percentage (0.933). Last weekend, Queen's suffered their first regulation losses of the season to Carleton and McGill, so the Gaels will be looking for revenge this weekend against the Redmen. Queen's also plays early next week, heading across town to play at RMC on Tuesday at 7pm.
Women's Basketball: Fresh off a pair of home losses, the women's basketball team (7-5) looks to improve their fortune on the road this weekend, playing Laurentian (2-9) on Friday and Algoma (0-11) on Saturday, with both games starting at 6pm.
Robyn Pearson (Toronto) is one of only 10 players in the CIS averaging double-digit rebounds, and is also one of four Gaels scoring at least 10 points per game on average.
Men's Basketball: The Gaels (7-5) battle a pair of division rivals on the road this weekend, taking on Laurentian (7-4) on Friday and Algoma (3-8) on Saturday. Queen's sits sixth in the OUA East behind Laurentian and ahead of Algoma, so this weekend's games could have major implications in terms of playoff positions. Both of the Gaels games this weekend tip-off at 8pm.
Men's Volleyball: Queen's (5-7) heads to Windsor (4-8) on Friday and Western (9-3) on Saturday to play a pair of 8pm games in men's volleyball action this weekend. The Gaels hosted Windsor and Western to close out the 2013 year calendar year, beating Windsor in five sets and losing to Western 3-1.
Women's Volleyball: The Gaels women's volleyball team (6-5) travels to Windsor (6-5) on Friday and Western (2-9) on Saturday to play a pair of 6pm games against West division opponents.
Brett Hagarty (Aurora, Ont.) is seventh in the OUA with 3.75 digs per set, leading the Gaels defense while also contributing 111 points on the year.
