KINGSTON, Ont. - The No. 2-ranked Queen's Gaels played to a scoreless draw with the No. 4-ranked Ottawa Gee-Gees in OUA women's soccer action in Ottawa, Saturday. With the 0-0 tie, they move to 2-0-1 at the beginning of the season and are now three points away from Ottawa in the race for the top place in the OUA East Division.
Madison Tyrell (White Rock, B.C.) made ten saves for the Gaels to pick up the shutout, while Cynthia Leblanc (Granby, Que) turned aside seven shots for Ottawa.
Jennifer Siu (London, Ont.) and
Brittany Almeida (Elginburg, Ont.) led the Gaels attack with three shots each, while Maris Barnabe (Ottawa,Ont.) and Chiara Quadri (White Rock, B.C.) had one shot each for the Gee Gees.
The Gaels are back in action tomorrow afternoon, where they will travel to Peterborough to take on Trent University.
