KINGSTON, Ont. (September 21, 2013) - The No. 2 Gaels tied the Ryerson Rams 1-1 Saturday afternoon on the West Campus Turf Field with
Tara Bartram's (Vancouver) fourth goal of the year.
Â
The rainy affair was deadlocked through the first 45 minutes, with the Gaels getting the better of the chances in the first half.
Â
Ryerson broke the deadlock in the 69
th minute when Nicole Paiva sneaked through the Gaels defense and passed the ball around goalkeeper
Michaila Frawley (Victoria) into the net.
Â
Bartram responded for the Gaels in the 77
th minute, capitalizing on a misplay from Rams' keeper Rebecca Petrocelli by slotting the ball into the empty net.
Â
As both teams battled for the go-ahead goal in the dying minutes, Frawley made the play of the game, tipping a Ryerson shot that hit the crossbar, but stayed out. The match ended 1-1.
Â
The Gaels (4-0-3) are back in action on Sunday when they take on the University of Toronto Varsity Blues (4-2-1) at 1pm on the West Campus Turf Field.
