KINGSTON, Ont. (May 24, 2013) - Queen's football head coach
Pat Sheahan is pleased to announce the signing of nine top recruits to the Gaels football program.
Quarterback Chris Sharanewych (Etobicoke, Ont.), outside linebacker James Pelley (Fall River, N.S.), defensive back Aaron Veltri (Burlington, Ont.) receiver Connor Weir (Waterloo, Ont.), inside linebacker Austin Passariello (Oakville, Ont.), offensive lineman MacKenzie George (Kingston, Ont.), inside receiver Alex Zulys (Toronto), receiver Alex Bayne (Bedford, N.S.) and Christopher Fabiilli (Sudbury, Ont.) have all committed to play for Queen's.

On April 16 the Gaels announced four local area recruits: Brendan Ginn (Kingston, Ont.), Nicholas Dowd (Gananoque, Ont.), Kyle O'Hara (Otttawa) and Matt Pendergast (Kingston, Ont.).

The team then introduced their first wave of recruits from across Ontario: Seton Battin (Otterville, Ont.), Alex Coutu (St. Catharines, Ont.) Munashe Masawi (Peterborough, Ont.), Jonah Pataki (Wallaceburg, Ont.), Justin Saddlemyre (Burlington, Ont.), Zac Sauer (Ayr, Ont.) and Joshua Tait (Brantford, Ont.).

The Queen's football Gaels begin their regular season on the road when they take on the York Lions on August 25. The Gaels then open up their home schedule on Monday September 2 against the McMaster Marauders at 2:00 p.m. at Richardson Stadium.
