BOX SCORE WATERLOO, Ont. (November 3, 2013) - The No. 3 Queen's Gaels picked up a point but lost in a shootout 3-2 to the No. 5 Laurier Golden Hawks in Waterloo on Sunday afternoon.
After falling behind 1-0 early in the first period the Gaels battled back and got a power play goal from captain
Morgan McHaffie (Guelph, Ont.) to close out the second period.
Shawna Griffin (Redwood Meadows, Alta.) put Queen's ahead 2-1 in the third period but Laurier managed to even the score and force overtime.
After a scoreless overtime period the teams headed to a shootout. The Gaels sent four shooters in the the Golden Hawks netminder but could not find the back of the net. Laurier's fourth shooter Robyn Degagne beat Gaels starting netminder
Mel Dodd-Moher (Stittisville, Ont.) and Laurier took the win.
The Gaels sit at 6-0-3 on the regular season and have yet to lose in regulation. Queen's will take on both Toronto and Ryerson next weekend at the Memorial Centre.
