Morgan McHaffie (Guelph, Ont.) and a 20-save shutout for
Mel Dodd-Moher (Stittsville, Ont.) propelled the No. 3 Gaels to a 5-0 road-win over Laurentian on Saturday afternoon.
Danielle Girard (Sarnia, Ont.) opened the scoring six minutes into the game, netting the first period's only goal from
Taryn Pilon (Peterborough, Ont.) and McHaffie.
Queen's put the game out of reach in the second period, with
Nadia Larocca (Mississauga, Ont.),
Shawna Griffin (Redwood Meadows, Alta.), and
Clare McKellar (London, Ont.) scoring a goal apiece to give the Gaels a 4-0 lead heading into the final frame. A short-handed empty-netter from
Emily Gervais (Kamloops, B.C.) gave Queen's the 5-0 victory.
Laura Deller was in goal for Laurentian, making 46 saves in the loss.Â
The Gaels continue their road play against Nipissing at 2pm on Sunday.
