BOX SCORE TORONTO (November 22, 2013) - After falling behind to Ryerson two sets to none, Queen's mounted a comeback to force a fifth set, but ended up losing 3-2 in Friday night's road match, 25-20, 25-21, 21-25, 17-25, and 18-16.
The Gaels fell just short of completing the comeback, leading 8-6 when the teams switched sides in the final set.Â
Will Sidgwick (Toronto) and
Stephen Holmes (Ancaster, Ont.) commanded the Gaels offense, with 13 and 11 kills, respectively.
Darren Edwards (Waterdown, Ont.) was also among the Gaels top scorers, with seven kills, four solo blocks, and two service aces.Â
On the defensive side,
Ivo Dramov (Plovdiv, Bulgaria) posted 13 digs and
Thomas Ellison recorded 10 digs.
Robert Wojcik led the way for Ryerson with a game-high 20 kills, while Alexander Dawson added 14 kills of his own.
The Gaels (3-4) close out their roadtrip on Saturday at 6pm when they play Toronto (3-6).
