Queen's was relentless in the second period tallying another two goals, one by Griffin on a powerplay and another by Megan Farrell (Barrie, Ont.) off an assist from Taryn Pilon (Peterborough, Ont.).

The Gaels led 4-0 heading into the third period where Waterloo's Kaitlyn McDonell gave her team their first goal of the game to break up a Gaels shutout. Less than a minute later, Griffin assisted Jacklin with her first goal of the game, and the Gaels fifth.

Mel Dodd-Moher (Stittsville, Ont.) was in net for the sixty minutes of action and had a total of 30 saves on the afternoon.
