Gaels Lose to Golden Hawks On The Road 66-62

BOX SCORE WATERLOO, Ont. (November 15, 2013) - Queen's women's basketball (2-3) suffered a tough loss to the Laurier Golden Hawks (4-1) on the road, losing the contest 66-62.
 
Laurier was off to an early lead on their home court, outscoring the visiting Gaels 22-14 in the first quarter. Queen's regrouped in the second and took control of the pace of the game leading the Hawks 33-31 at half time. The Gaels were consistent from the floor and aggressive in their play through the last two quarters of action, but were unable to close out Laurier in the fourth quarter.
 
In the four point loss, Queen's shot just under 67% percent from the three and 43% from the floor. Liz Boag (Kingston, Ont.) of the Gaels had a standout performance, finishing the game with 17 points and going three for three from beyond the arc in 25 minutes of play. Emily Hazlett (Fredericton) added nine points and eight boards of her own in the contest. Leading scorers for the Golden Hawks were Kaitlyn Schenck with 14 points and Lee Anna Osei with 13.
 
The women are back in action tomorrow night against the Waterloo Warriors (2-2) at 6pm.
