Filion and Bartram score in 2-2 draw with Carleton

OTTAWA (October 9, 2013) - The Queen's Gaels were in Ottawa on Wednesday afternoon to take on the Carleton Ravens in OUA soccer action. The Gaels took a 2-1 lead mid-way through the second half but the Ravens tied the game late to earn the draw.

In a tight game it was the Ravens taking the lead in the first half with a goal from Adrianna Ruggiero in the 31st minute and held the lead at the half.

Queen's was able to respond in the second half, Riley Filion (Alexandria, Ont.) tied her career high with her sixth goal of the season in the 60th minute. Filion finished with four shots on the day.

Tara Bartram (Vancouver) then put the Gaels in front 2-1 with her fifth goal of the seaosn in the 86th minute. Carleton quickly responded to tie the game at 2-2 two minutes later the the two teams ended in a 2-2 draw.

The Gaels (6-2-4) continue their road-trip this weekend in Toronto, playing the No. 10 University of Toronto Varsity Blues (8-2-2) on Saturday and the Ryerson Rams (3-7-1) on Sunday.
