Gaels hold on for 2-1 win over RMC

| By:
KINGSTON, Ont. (October 4, 2013)- Joseph Zupo (Toronto) scored in the 1st minute of Friday night's match against the RMC Paladins at the West Campus Field, putting the Gaels ahead for the rest of the game.

Zupo's goal came after RMC couldn't clear a corner earned by Tommy Hong (Oakville, Ont.) on the Gaels' first possession.

The game's second goal came off the toe of Chris Michael (Ottawa) in the 24th minute, beating Paladins keeper Sebastien Hoffman-Monker on a rebound, off the crossbar and in.

Curtis Brown got one back for RMC just before halftime, sidestepping a pair of Gaels' defenders before sneaking one past Maxfield Materne (Toronto).

Queen's fought off the Paladins' second-half pressure and took three points with a 2-1 win.

The Gaels (5-2-2) are on the road next week, taking on the Carleton Ravens (5-2-2) on Wednesday and the University of Toronto Varsity Blues (1-4-3) on Saturday.
