Carleton ends Gaels season in OT thriller

| By:
OTTAWA (October 27, 2013) - The Gaels were on an emotional rollercoaster on Sunday afternoon playing at Carleton, with Andrew Martin (Kingston, Ont.) scoring to tie the game 1-1 in the dying minutes of regulation, only to go on to lose 2-1 in overtime.

The Ravens took a 1-0 lead early in the second half, when Daud Dahir beat Queen's keeper Dylan Maxwell (Vancouver).

Martin responded late in the game for the Gaels, making no mistake on a cross from Chris Michael (Ottawa) to tie the game and send the match to OT.

With time winding down in the first OT period, Carleton's Joey Kewin controlled the ball at the top of the 18-yard box and deposited it into the bottom corner. The Gaels were unable to respond in the second OT period, so Carleton advanced to the OUA Final Four with the 2-1 victory.

Maxwell made seven saves in the Gaels loss, while Travis Chace picked up the win for the Ravens with 11 saves.

The Gaels loss ends their season, which saw them place 3rd in the OUA East with a 6-5-3 record and beat Nipissing in their first-round playoff game.
