KINGSTON, Ont. (October 2, 2013) - In their second straight 8-0 win, the No. 7 Gaels bested the RMC Paladins at the West Campus Field on Wednesday night.
 
Breanna Burton (Ottawa) opened the floodgates in the 17^th minute, when she took a pass from Rachel Radu (Ottawa) in stride, stepped around Paladins keeper Emily Barnard, and buried the ball into the empty net. Chipping the keeper from 25 yards out, Radu got a goal of her own in the 20^th minute. Burton added another first-half tally, tapping in a cross from Jennifer Siu (London, Ont.) in the 34^th minute.
 
Riley Filion (Alexandria, Ont.) finished another Siu cross to make it 4-0 at halftime, and netted another early in the second frame, giving her five goals in her last two games.
 
The Paladins' best chance came in the 72^nd minute, after the referee called a handball against Alex Blanchard (North Vancouver, B.C.) inside the Gaels 18-yard box, giving RMC a penalty kick. Rhianna Koopman's attempt missed the left post by inches.
 
The Gaels finished the game with a pair of goals from Monique Czaczkowski (Thunder Bay, Ont.) and a last-minute blast from Brittany Almeida (Elginburg, Ont.).
 
On Homecoming weekend, the Gaels (6-1-3) host the No. 1 Ottawa Gee-Gees (8-0-2) on the West Campus Field at noon on Saturday.
