KINGSTON, Ont.
Matt Mullins (Belleville, Ont.) led the Gaels to a 55-5 win over the Brock Badgers in their final regular season match this Saturday. Mullins had 15 points after scoring three tries for the Gaels.
The Brock Badgers started the game strong, with Connor Fitzsimmons putting the first points on the board following an interception. The Gaels quickly regained their composure and in the sixth minute of play scored their first try of the game from Mullins,
Brendan McGovern (Ottawa, Ont.) kicked a successful conversion to put the Gaels in the lead.
Minutes later Queen's scored again with a try from
David Worsley (Vancouver, B.C.), his try was followed by another successful conversion from McGovern. Kai Lloyd (Mississauga, Ont.) also scored a try for the Gaels in the 21
st minute of play which was followed by McGovern's first try of the game and his third successful conversion.
Matt Mullins scored the final try of the half for the Gaels giving them a 31-5 lead at the end of the first half.
The second half so the continuation of the Gaels scoring run from the first half, with Mullins scoring a try in the 48
th minute, and Worsley kicking the conversion.
Tommy Kirkham (Vancouver,B.C.) also scored a try for the Gaels in the 52
nd minute while Kai Lloyd scored his second try of the game minutes after.
Andrew Carr (King City, Ont.)kicked the successful conversion following Lloyd's try. Buck Payne (Vancouver, B.C.) scored the final try for the Gaels in the 59
th minute of play after a strong 40 yard run to bring the Queen's Gaels to a 55-5 victory over the Brock Badgers.
After today's win, the Gaels receive a bye to the OUA semi-finals and will continue to defend their championship title. The semifinal game is scheduled for next Saturday October 26
