BOX SCORE KINGSTON, Ont. (October 12, 2013) - With only two seconds remaining in the third period of a 1-1 game,
Shawna Griffin (Redwood Meadows, Alta.) played hero scoring to give the Gaels a 2-1 win.
Despite being outshot 28-13 in the first two periods it was the Voyageurs who struck first as Lindsay Brazill put the visitors up 1-0 on a goal that beat Gaels starting netminder
Caitlyn Lahonen (Sharon, Ont.).
The Gaels kept peppering the Voyageurs netminder Laura Deller and eventually
Taryn Pilon (Peterborough, Ont.) was able to break through early in the third period.
Morgan McHaffie (Guelph, Ont.) added the lone assist on the play.
The two teams stayed deadlocked at one until Griffin was able to beat Deller with only two seconds remaining in the third period.
Marlee Fisher (Kingston, Ont.) added the assist and the Gaels improve to 2-0-1 with the win.
