Ottawa tops Gaels 66-43

BOX SCORE OTTAWA (January 18, 2013) - The Queen's Gaels (6-7) lost to the OUA East division leading Ottawa Gee-Gees (10-3) 66-43 on Friday night in Ottawa.

Nicole Morse (Cottam, Ont.) finished with a team high 12 points for the Gaels while adding six rebounds. It was Tatiana Hanlan (Gatineau, Que.) who stole the show however, sinking seven three-pointers finishing with a game high 29 points to secure the win for Ottawa.

Ottawa came out strong in the first quarter putting up 18 points to the Gaels five. Queen's managed to claim back eight more points over the next two quarters but still trailed 38-33 after three quarters.

The Gee-Gees closed out the game in the fourth quarter putting up 28 points to the Gaels 10 securing their ninth straight win of the season.

Rebounding was the difference for the Gee-Gees as they hauled in 54 to the Gaels 36 rebounds, 20 of which were on the offensive side for Ottawa compared to only three for Queen's.

The Gaels return to action tomorrow night when they visit the No. 6 Carleton Ravens with tipoff set for 6 p.m.
