BOX SCORE OTTAWA (January 19, 2013) - The Queen's Gaels (9-5) lost to the No. 1 Carleton Ravens (12-1) 104-63 on Saturday night in the second of two road games for the Gaels this weekend.
Greg Faulkner (Kingston, Ont.) had another strong game for the Gaels finishing with a team high of 21 while adding six rebounds.
Sukhpreet Singh (Toronto, Ont.) scored 12 points in a supporting role. Clinton Springer Williams (London, Ont.) was a force to be reckoned with for the Ravens scoring a game high of 25 points, with five rebounds, helping to secure the win for Carleton.
Carleton came out strong in the first quarter putting up 27 points to the Gaels 13. Queen's battled all night to cut into the Ravens increasing lead but still trailed 80-41 after three quarters.
The Ravens closed out the game in the fourth quarter with 24 points to the Gaels 22.
The Ravens work under the boards proved to be an important factor in their victory tonight, with 41 rebounds compared to the Gaels 23. Carleton rode their strong shooting throughout the game with 53.5% shooting on the night and hit 15 of their 40 shots from behind the arc. .
The Gaels return to action Friday January 25th with a tough match-up against the No. 6 Ryerson Rams in Toronto. Tipoff is slated for 8 p.m.
