BOX SCORE OTTAWA (January 18, 2013) - The Queen's Gaels (9-4) lost to the No. 10 Ottawa Gee-Gees (11-2) 75-58 on Friday night in the first of two road games for the Gaels in Ottawa this weekend.
Greg Faulkner (Kingston, Ont.) finished with a team high of 14 points for the Gaels while adding three rebounds.
Sukhpreet Singh (Toronto, Ont.) had another strong game for Queen's pitching in 12 points. Fifth year veteran Warren Ward (London, Ont.) was the standout on the night as the Gee-Gee scored a game high 20 points with seven rebounds, three offensive, helping the Ravens to secure the win against the Gaels.
Ottawa came out strong in the first quarter putting up 21 points to the Gaels nine. Queen's battled all night to cut into the Gee-Gees lead but still trailed 63-46 after three quarters.
The Gee-Gees closed out the game in the fourth quarter matching the Gaels 12 points with 12 of their own.
The Gee-Gees rode their strong shooting all night as they were 45.3 percent shooting on the night and hit 12 of their 29 three-point attempts in the game.
The Gaels return to action tomorrow night with another tough matchup when they visit the No. 1 Carleton Ravens with tipoff set for 8 p.m.
