Gaels have no answer for No. 6 Gee Gees

BOX SCORE KINGSTON, Ont. (February 10, 2012) - The Gaels had no answer for the visitting No. 6 Ottawa Gee Gees this Friday evening in the ARC. They fell with with a final score of 83-46.

The Gaels found themselves looking at a steep hill to climb after a 23-0 opening run by the Gee Gees. Liz Boag of Kingston, Ont. scored after eight minutes with two free throws and shortly after a three-pointer to awake Queen's and close the gap. The score after one, however, was 26-8. The second period of play was similar, the Gaels having a hard time stopping the Gee Gees' offense who shot an impressive 53% in the half. 

Queen's was starting to find their stride in the second half, where they were able to hold Ottawa to 13 and 19 in the third and fourth quarters respectively, but it was not enough to climb back into the game. 

Brittany Moore of Hannon, Ont. led the Gaels with 12 points while Boag added 10.

Moore now moves to 1,615 points in her career and needs only nine to move into third and 11 to move into second on the OUA all-time scoring list. 

The Gaels are back in action tomorrow versus the No. 5 Carleton Ravens an the ARC. Tipoff is set for 6:00pm.
