Singh's 22-point night helps Gaels to men's basketball victory over McMaster

BOX SCORE KINGSTON, Ont.- The Queen's Gaels men's basketball team improved to 5-1 with their 77-73 victory over the McMaster Marauders Saturday evening at Burridge Gymnasium in Hamilton. Sukhpreet Singh (Toronto, Ont.) was the game scoring leader with 22 points, helping the Gaels come from behind to notch their second straight win.

The Gaels trailed the Marauders 41-35 at halftime, however an offensive surge from Singh helped Queen's rally to a four-point victory. The first-year guard also led the Gaels in assists, with six; and added two steals. The Gaels, despite being beat on the glass 70-63, where quicker handling the ball, tallying 10 steals.

The Gaels saw a noteworthy effort from Mackenzie Simpson (Ottawa, Ont.) who was 57% from beyond the arc, recording a total of 18 points. Greg Faulkner (Kingston, Ont.) led the way for the Gaels in rebounding, grabbing 18 total boards. He also added 15 points for the Gaels.

McMaster was led by Taylor Black (Stoney Creek, Ont.) who recorded 20 points.

The Gaels men's basketball team is next in action Friday, November 30th, when they play host to the Windsor Lancers. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. at the ARC Main Gym.
