BOX SCORE KINGSTON, Ont. –
Greg Faulkner's 20 points led the Queen's Gaels to an 85-51 win over the Brock Badgers in OUA men's basketball action at the Bob Davis Gym in St. Catharines, Ont., Friday. The Kingston native went 6-for-12 from the field and 7-for-10 from the line as the Gaels improved to 4-1 in league play.
The Gaels trailed 16-13 after the first quarter, but took control of the game in a high-powered second quarter that saw them outscore the Badgers 30-7. Queen's was up 43-23 at the interval, and never looked back.
Two other Gaels were in double figures, as
James Asefa scored 16 points on 6-for-11 shooting while
Mackenzie Simpson scored 14.
For Brock, Mark Gibson and Mike Luby each scored ten points.
Three-point shooting accounting for much of the Gaels' success, as they went 14-for-26 from beyond the arc, an incredible 54%, while Brock was only 3-for-24 from long range. The Gaels shot 43% overall (27-for-63), while holding Brock to only a 26% (18-for-69) field-goal percentage.
The Gaels outrebounded Brock 42-33.
The Gaels return to action on Saturday, November 24, as they visit the McMaster Marauders. Tipoff in Hamilton is set for 8 p.m.
