Queen's tops Ryerson 4-1 in men's hockey

BOX SCORE TORONTO – Four different players scored for the Queen's Gaels in a 4-1 win over the Ryerson Rams in men's hockey Thursday night at the Mattamy Athletic Centre.
 
After a scoreless first period, Taylor Clements (Toronto, Ont.) opened the scoring for the Gaels with a goal at the 11:01 mark of the second period. Jesse Ferras (Ottawa, Ont.) and Braedan Corbeth (Oakville, Ont.) had assists. The Rams evened the score at 18:50 with a goal by Dustin Alcock (Hamilton, Ont.). The Gaels outshot the Rams 12-3 in the second period.
 
Joey Derochie (Sudbury, Ont.) added a power play goal for the Gaels at the 3:34 mark of the third period putting Queen's up 2-1. Brock Ouellet (Lindsay, Ont.) scored an unassisted goal at 8:34 advancing the Gaels' lead to 3-1. Corey Bureau (Amherstview, Ont.) added an empty net goal for the Gaels in the final seconds of the third period bringing the game to its final score of 4-1. With the win, the Gaels are now 3-0 against Ryerson this season.
 
Riley Whitlock (Calgary, Alta.) had 35 saves for the Gaels and Steve Gleeson (Toronto, Ont.) stopped 18 shots for the Rams. Queen's is now 5-3-2 and Ryerson move to 3-8.
 
The Gaels return to action Saturday, November 17, as they host the Nipissing Lakers (5-6) at the Kingston Memorial Centre. Faceoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
