#7 Gaels draw even with Ryerson Rams in aggressive men's soccer match

| By:
KINGSTON, Ont. (October 7, 2012)- The Gaels fought back from a halftime deficit to draw even with the Ryerson Rams, 1-1, in an exciting and aggressive game at the West Campus Field, Sunday.

The Gaels came out firing on all cylinders with two chances coming early from Nathan Klemencic (Trenton, Ont.) and Lucas Lobo (Kingston, Ont.), who was the late game hero of yesterday's match against the Toronto Varsity Blues.

The Gaels however lost control of the game to the Rams, who took over offensively, outshooting the Gaels 6-4 in the first half. In the 42nd minute Nikola Milosevic fired a shot that deflected past the Gaels' Dylan Maxwell (Vancouver, B.C.) to give the Rams the lead.

Queens bounced back in the second half, capitalizing on the chances they had and winning the midfield and possession battles. In the 71st minute Lucas Lobo continued his dominance and netted a chip ball from Nathan Klemencic. Lobo had three shots on the day, all of which were quality chances. Lobo has had a noteworthy weekend for the Gaels, scoring the game-winning goal in yesterdays match and scoring Queen's only marker today.

Dylan Maxwell was solid in net for the Gaels stopping nine of 10 shots faced, many of which were dangerous scoring chances.

Queen's returns to action next Saturday afternoon as they visit North Bay, Ontario to face the Nipissing Lakers, who they beat earlier in the season 1-0. Kickoff is set for 2:15 pm.
