A balanced attack led the Queen's Gaels to a 67-5 win over their local rivals, the RMC Paladins, in OUA men's rugby action at Nixon Field, Friday. The Gaels struck quickly, opening a 21-0 lead after only 15 minutes, and led 41-0 at halftime, as they cruised to their second straight win, and remained in second place in the OUA.
Nine different players scored for the Gaels, including seven different try scorers.
Doug Davidson,
Brendan Sloan,
Graham Turner and Jeff MacDonald each found the end zone twice, while
Zach Chadnick,
Grant Clark and
Keegan Myers contributed one try each. Three conversions each by
David Worsley and
Adam McQueen rounded out the scoring for Queen's.
Clark O'Reilly responded for RMC (1-4-0, 5 pts.) in the 65th minute.
The Gaels (4-1-0, 21 pts.) return to action on Saturday, October 13, as they visit the U of T Varsity Blues. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m.
