Gaels clinch 13-0 win over Guelph in Men's Rugby

KINGSTON, Ont (October 26, 2012) – The Queen's Gaels picked up a 13-0 win over the Guelph Gryphons in men's rugby action in Guelph, Friday night. With the win, the Gaels end the OUA season in first place, with a 7-1 record and 35 points, and advance directly to the OUA semifinals.

The Gaels led 7-0 at the half, with George Gleeson of Toronto, Ont. putting the first points on the board with a try. Liam Underwood of Toronto, Ont. followed Gleeson's try with a successful conversion kick. The second half saw Underwood scoring a penalty goal and a drop goal, as he finished with eight points. The Gaels picked up their fourth shutout of the season.

With the win, the Gaels receive a bye through the OUA quarter-finals, and will host an OUA semi-final next weekend at Nixon Field.
