| By:
BOX SCORE KINGSTON, Ont. - A late third period goal by Corey  Bureau  (Amherstview, Ont.) forced overtime, but the Gaels were unable to get the win at the Memorial Centre Friday night as they fell 3-2 to the McGill Redmen.

In an action-packed start to the period, the game remained scoreless until Hubert Genest (Quebec City, Que.) scored for the Redmen at 10:19. The Redmen outshot the Gaels 16-8 in the first period.

In the second period, Guillaume Monast (Montreal, Que.) put the Redmen up 2-0 at 10:54 with a power play goal assisted by Jonathon Brunelle (Boisbriand, Que.). Both teams had many scoring opportunities and the Gaels got on the board late in the second on a goal by Taylor Clements (Toronto, Ont.) and assisted by Kelly Jackson (Scarborough, Ont.), putting the score at 2-1 to end the frame.

The Gaels and Redmen fought hard in the third period, but the period remained scoreless for most of the period. With Gaels' goalie Riley Whitlock having been pulled, Bureau jammed the puck in, with assists by Joseph Luongo (Concord, Ont.) and Stephane Chabot (Rockland, Ont.), with only 40 seconds left to forcing the game into overtime.

With only one shot, the Gaels were unable to score in extra session. Christophe Longpre-Poirier (Longueuil, QC) scored the game winning goal for the Redmen with 1:03 left in overtime.

The Gaels move to 2-2-1 in the regular season and the Redmen improve to 3-3. Riley Whitlock (Calgary, Alta.) had 44 saves for the Gaels and Hubert Morin (St. George de Beauce, QC) stopped 41 shots for the Redmen.

The Gaels return to action next Friday, November 2, as they host the Brock Badgers at the Memorial Centre. Faceoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
