Queen's falls to McGill in men's hockey

BOX SCORE KINGSTON, Ont. – The Queen's Gaels were unable to put a goal on the board at McConnell Arena in Montreal Wednesday night, losing 2-0 to the McGill Redmen in OUA men's hockey action.
 
Christophe Longpre-Poirier (Longueuil, Que.) scored a power play goal for the Redmen at 1:19 giving McGill an early 1-0 lead. The Redmen outshot the Gaels 20-8 in the first period. After a scoreless second period, the Redmen added a second goal scored by Jonathan Brunelle (Boisbriand, Que.).
 
Queen's was 0-7 on the powerplay, while McGill was 1-7. The Gaels move to 2-2 in the regular season and the Redmen move to 2-3. Riley Whitlock (Calgary, Alta.) stopped 39 shots for the Gaels. Hubert Morin (St-Georges-de-Beauce, Que.) put up 26 saves for the Redmen.
 
The Gaels return to action Friday, October 26, as they host the McGill Redmen for a rematch at the Memorial Centre. Faceoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
