BOX SCORE OTTAWA (January 21, 2012) - The Queen's Gaels (7-7) dropped their second game in as many nights as the No. 7 Ottawa Gee Gees (13-2) won 73-51 on Saturday night.
Brittany Moore of Hannon, Ont. and
Christine Wallace of North Gower, Ont. each had 12 points for the Gaels in a losing effort. Wallace also had a team high five rebounds and two steals. The Gee Gees were led by Hannah Sunley-Paisley of Toronto who had 16 points and 13 boards while teammate Bess Lennox of Ottawa had 15 points and 11 rebounds.
The Gaels were outmatched from the start as the Gee Gees took a four point lead after one quarter and nine point lead at the half. Queen's would outscore Ottawa in the third frame but the Gee Gees put up 25 points in the fourth to the Geals 10 to seal the victory.
The Gaels were slowed by poor shooting, as a team they went 17 for 59 on 28 percent shooting. The Gee Gees shot eight for 20 from the three point line good for 40 percent shooting.
The Gaels return to action next Friday when they travel to Toronto to take on the Varsity Blues.
