32 from bench leads Gaels to victory over Lions

BOX SCORE KINGSTON, Ont. (January 14, 2012) - The Gaels (7-5) topped the York University Lions (6-7) this Saturday evening in Kingston 75-69 for their second win in as many nights.

Kingston, Ont. native Jenny Wright dominated off the bench, scoring 12 of the Gaels' 32 bench points on the night. Queen's started the game off with a 9-2 run and ended the opening quarter 20-15. In the second quarter, the Lions fought back, tying the game and outscoring the Gaels by five in the frame. In the second half, the Gaels built up momentum in the third quarter, outscoring the Lions 20-16, and increased the lead by two more in the final frame. The final score was 75-69.

Wright was the leading scorer off the bench wiht 12 points. Brittany Moore of Hannon , Ont. led the Gaels with 14 points while Christine Wallace of North Gower, Ont. added 10 of her own for the Gaels. 

The Gaels are back in action next friday when they visit Carleton University in Ottawa. Tipoff is set for 6:00pm.
