Moore drops 23 in win over Lady Vees

BOX SCORE KINGSTON, Ont. (January 13, 2012) - Brittany Moore of Hannon Ont. propelled the Gaels (6-5) to a 64-51 win over the Laurentian University Lady Vees (2-10), scoring 23 points on Friday night in Kingston. 

Moore led all scorers with 23 points. She shot 8-10 from the line, and added three steals and three assists.  Meaghan MacDougall of Martintown, Ont. contributed a game high five assists in the win for Queen's. The Lady Vees were led by Emma Decloe of Sundridge, Ont. who had a team high 13 points as well as four rebounds.

The Gaels had a great first quarter, building up a 21-10 lead capping off the period with a last second basket from Kingston native Jenny Wright. The Gaels spent the second and third quarters fending off the Laurentian offense, being outscored in both quarters. The last frame was all Gaels as they put up 19 points to the Lady Vees 13.

With the win the Gaels move one game above the .500 mark putting them in fourth place in the OUA East division at 6-5. 

The Gaels return to action tomorrow evening versus York University in the ARC. Tipoff is set for 6:00pm.
