BOX SCORE KINGSTON, Ont. (January 13, 2012) - Second-chance opportunities for the Laurentian University Voyageurs (4-8) gave the Gaels (0-11) a lot of trouble this Friday evening in Kingston. The final score was 74-61 for the visiting Voyageurs.
The Voyageurs led the whole game, starting with a three-pointer and not slowing down. The Gaels were down four in the first quarter of play, and the Voyageurs steadily built their lead from there.
The Gaels had a difficult night in the rebounding column. They were outrebounded by the Voyageurs 47-30 and 17-6 on the offensive glass. The Gaels were scoring and getting stops, but could not contain the glass. The Gaels also had a difficult time from the three point line, shooting only 1-16 on the night.
Nikola Misljencevic of Ottawa led the Gaels with 16 points. Alex Weatherill of Hamilton, Ont. had 13 and Mackenzie Simpson also of Ottawa added 11.
The Gaels return to action tomorrow evening versus York University. Tipoff is scheduled for 8:00pm in Kingston.
