KINGSTON, Ont. (September 11, 2011) – A second half goal from
Jessie De Boer of North Vancouver, B.C. gave the Gaels (3-0-0) a 2-1 win over the Trent University Excalibur (0-3-1) Saturday afternoon at Richardson Stadium.
Despite Queen's controlling the action, Trent struck first, scoring off a header in the 22nd minute of play. Before the end of half,
Breanna Burton of Ottawa answered with a goal for the Gaels in the 39th minute to tie things up.
The Gaels dominated the second half of the game. De Boer scored connecting on a corner kick from
Alexis McKinty of Burlington, Ont. to give Queen's their third straight win of the season.
The Gaels play again September 16 at Richardson Stadium against the Royal Military College Paladins. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 pm.
