KINGSTON, Ont. (September 10, 2011) – 2010 OUA East MVP Jacqueline Tessier of Winnipeg scored a second half goal on a penalty shot to lead the No. 1 Queen's Gaels (2-0) to their second victory of the year as they took on the No. 9 University of Ottawa (1-1-1) at Richardson Stadium in Kingston, Ont. on Saturday afternoon.
Despite being outshot by Ottawa 6-2 in the scoreless first half, Tessier was able to convert on a penalty shot in the 71st minute to secure the win.
Chantel Marson recorded her second shutout of the season in the win.
Queen's now moves to 2-0 on the season, while Tessier currently sits second (tie) in OUA scoring with three goals in her two games played.
The Gaels take on Trent University (0-2-1) tomorrow afternoon at Richardson Stadium.
