Gaels drop 6-1 decision to Concordia

MONTREAL (November 5, 2011) - The Queen's Gaels men's hockey team dropped a 6-1 decision to the Concordia Stingers on Saturday afternoon in Montreal, Quebec.

Despite firing 40 shots on goal the Gaels were unnable to muster enough offense to keep things close against the Stingers.

Concordia was led by Antoine-Charles Messier of Boucherville, Que. who had a pair of goals to along with one assist. 

The Stingers scored once in the first and four times in the second frame to go up 5-0. In the third period the Gaels Joey Derochie of Sudbury, Ont. scored the lone goal for Queen's. Concordia would add one more for a 6-1 final.

The Gaels outshot the Stingers 40-35 in the loss.

Queen's hits the ice next on November 11 when they take on McGill at the Memorial Centre. Puck drop is set for 7:30pm.
