Gaels fall to Waterloo despite 28 point effort from Misljencevic

WATERLOO, Ont. (November 19, 2011) - Despite a 28 point performance from Nikola Misljencevic of Ottawa, the Gaels could not top the University of Waterloo Warriors this Saturday afternoon. The final score was 79-70.

It was a close first half for the visitting Gaels, who were outsocred by margins of only two and three points in the first two quarters. In the third quarter of play, the Warriors took a commanding lead, besting the Gaels 22-11 in the period. The Gaels tried to fight back in the fourth quarter, but it was too little too late. 

Misljencevic was a threat all over the court for the Gaels, shooting 67 percent from the floor, including 3/6 from deep and 5/7 from the line. He also added 5 boards and 2 assists to his stat line. Ryan Golden of Barrie, Ont. added 13 and Alex Weatherill of Hamilton, Ont. added 10. Golden was strong on the glass with 9 boards of his own.

Cam McIntyre of Kitchener, Ont. led the Warriors with 25 points and 4 rebounds.

The Gaels are back in action next weekend at home versus McMaster and and Brock Friday and Saturday respectively. Tipoff for both games is 8:00.
