TORONTO (October 9, 2011) - Despite a strong second half effort scoring two goals, the Gaels could not top the Ryerson Rams (7-2-2) this Sunday afternoon in Toronto as they fell by a 3-2 score.
The first half was all Rams with two goals in the 16th and 13rd minutes of play putting them ahead 2-0 going into the half.
The Gaels fought to close the gap.
Jordan Brooks of Angus, Ont. scored in the 71st minute. Just eight minutes later the Rams scored again, extending their lead back to two.
The Gaels would not back down, and in the 85th minute of play
Robert Lannan of Port Williams, N.S. scored, closing the gap to a single goal. It was too little too late for the Gaels, as they lost the game 3-2.
The loss brings the Gaels record to 5-4-1.
They continue their road trip next Saturday in Sudbury, Ont. when they play the Laurentian Voyageurs. Kickoff is set for 2:15.
