Tessier leads Gaels over Gee Gees 3-2

OTTAWA (October 5, 2011) Jackie Tessier of WInnipeg had two goals on the day as the No. 3 Gaels (9-0-1) defeated the Ottawa Gee Gees (8-3-1) by a score of 3-2.

The two teams traded off goals early on, with Tessier notching a pair of strikes in the first half to match the Gee Gees two goals. In the second half the Gaels Jessie De Boer of North Vancouver, B.C. broke the draw, putting the Gaels out in front.

Queen's managed to hold on to the 3-2 lead late in the game as they controlled posession and limited Ottawa to only a few outside chances.

Chantel Marson of London, Ont. got the win for the Gaels. Tessier now sits in a tie for first in the OUA in goals with eight in 10 games played.

The Gaels continue  their road trip as they travel to Toronto on Saturday to take on the Varsity Blues followed by a match on Sunday with Ryerson.
