KINGSTON, Ont. (October 3, 2011) - The Queen's Gaels joined parents, friends and family to celebrate their 2nd annual parents weekend this past Saturday, Oct. 1st.
Parents travelled and sent messages from as far away as British Colombia and Glasgow, Scotland. Unfortunately, the success of the parent's weekend events did not carry over into game results for the day (7-0 loss to U of T and 5-0 loss to Waterloo).
On Sunday the Gaels reconciled and played a quality game against the McGill Martlets. The team dominated play for most of the game. The team had outstanding performances from the entire midfield, while Polly Black of Lisburn, Northern Ireland controlled the game from a new position at sweep. Despite the early success, the team struggled to turn their possession into goals and lost a heartbreaker, 1-0.
