NORTH BAY, Ont. (October 16, 2011) - The No.6 Gaels dominated the Nipissing University Lakers this Sunday afternoon in North Bay, Ont. The final score of the match was 3-0.
Kelli Chamberlain of North bay, Ont. scored twice for the Gaels in the first half in the 29th and 33rd minutes of play.
Jackie Tessier of Winnipeg scored just one minute later, giving the Gaels a 3-0 lead. From there the Gaels switched to a defensive mindset, maintaing the 3-0 lead till the end of the match.
Chantelle Marson of London, Ont. and
Sabrina Carew of Thunder Bay, Ont. recorded a shutout for the Gaels.
The win extends the Gaels record to 12-1-1.
Queen's will meet the Nippising Lakers next weekend, this time at Tindall Field in Kingston. Kickoff is set for 12:00pm.
