Losing streak hits five games, as Gaels lose 65-47 to Gee-Gees

OTTAWA (January 28, 2011) – The Queen's Gaels women's basketball team's struggles continued Friday asthey dropped their fifth straight game losing 65-47 to the Ottawa Gee-Gees.

Queen's record slips to 3-13 and they drop to seventh place in the OUA East Division, two points behind Laurentian. The Gaels last win was against Laurentian which was back on January 7th.

In front of a home crowd, Gee-Gee's Hannah Sunley-Paisley of Toronto recorded her 11th double-double of the season pouring in 22 points and 10 rebounds. Sunley-Paisley has tallied five straight double-double performances which started against the Gaels back on January 15th with 13 points and 14 boards.

Brittany Moore of Hannon, Ont., was Queen's top scorer with 18 points in the game and was the only Gael to break double digits. Hanna Koposhynska of Toronto finished with eight points and three rebounds.

Other Gee-Gee's breaking the 10 point barrier included Jenna Gilbert of Ottawa, with 14 points and Kim Cupid of Toronto, who tallied 10 points.

Sunley-Paisley was the game's top rebounder with 10.

Next up for the Gaels they will face the Carleton Ravens (14-2) in Ottawa tomorrow evening. Carleton is on a 10 game winning streak and sits comfortably in first place of the OUA East with 28 points.
