KINGSTON, Ont. (September 26, 2010) –
Michael Arnold of London, Ont., had two first half goals to lead the Gaels to a 3-1 win over the Laurentian Voyageurs at Richardson Stadium Sunday afternoon.
The Gaels first goal didn't come until late in the first half when Arnold was able to put one in the bottom left corner from the top of the 18-yard box. In the final minutes of the half, Arnold was able to put another one through from a direct kick from just outside the 18-yard box making the score 2-0 for the Gaels at halftime.
The Gaels widened the gap early in the second half when
Andrew Colosimo of Thunder Bay, Ont., put a hard kick into the bottom corner of the Voyageurs' net.
The Voyageurs attempted to make a comeback when Dieri Drame of Sudbury, Ont., was able to arc one over the Gaels' keeper. The Gaels were able to hold the Voyageurs back, however, and the final score was a 3-1 win for the Gaels.
The Gaels now have a three game win streak, and the win improves the Gaels record to 4-2-1.
The Gaels next game is at 4:15 pm Wednesday afternoon against the Carleton Ravens at Richardson stadium.
