TORONTO (September 12, 2010) – The No. 4 Queen's Gaels continued to dominate the OUA East with a 3-1 win over the Ryerson Rams in Toronto Sunday afternoon.
Three Gaels players contributed goals in the win as the Gaels remain undefeated in regular season play.
The Gaels took the early lead with the
Kelli Chamberlain, of North Bay Ont., scoring within the first 10 minutes of the game. The goal was Chamberlain's second of the weekend.
Angela Sullivan, of Scarborough Ont., had a goal of her own later in the first half to leave the Gaels with a two goal advantage going into the second half.
The Rams attempted to make a comeback in the second half with Amy Tahmizian, of Aurora Ont., scoring partway through the half.
Brienna Shaw, of Vancouver B.C., put any thought of a comeback to rest later in the half by restoring the two goal lead and securing the 3-1 win.
The win marks the Gaels fourth straight regular season win. They lead the OUA East with a 4-0 record.
The Gaels next game is at home at Richardson stadium at 5:00 on Wednesday, September 15, against the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees.
